Zoya: Arianna – PixieDust

Hello lacqueristas!

Today I have a textured polish to show you. Here’s Arianna from Zoya‘s PixieDust Collection:zoya - arianna1For some reason my photo’s made it look like the polish hasn’t dried completely, while it actually is thoroughly dry. Anyhow, what a lovely color! I think this is slightly less textured than the other two pixies from last years Fall release.
This is three thin coats with no top coat.zoya - arianna

ANNY – Desert Glam

ANNY couldn’t left behind with the textured trend that is currently going on. This is the newest collection which consists of eight textured polishes: Desert Glam.To my knowledge this is the first and only collection that ANNY has released in mini size only. Each polish contains 6 ml. The brushes are the same as with the full size polishes, nice and easy to work with.anny desert glam1All swatches are with a base coat and two coats of color. They’re all fully opaque in two coats 🙂 The formula is great and the application went easy. Also, the removal was not difficult at all. On to the swatches!

First up, four lovely shades with a ‘sandy’ finish:

Pink oasis, a bright pink shade. In real life this it’s brighter than the picture shows.
anny pink oasis - desert glamLas Vegas showgirl, a lavender shade. Perfect color for Spring don’t you think?anny las vegas showgirl - desert glamShooting star, a nude-ish taupe leaning to light grey shade.anny shooting star - desert glamBig performance, a very bright aqua blue shade. So bright! Lovely!anny big performance - desert glam

The other four shades have a little bit extra in their formula, shimmer and glitter. They also have a textured finish. Let’s take a look:

Blue hypnosis
, a bright cobalt blue base with fine purple and blue glitter. anny blue hypnosis - desert glamShe’s amazing, a bright red base which appears to lean to coral thanks to the fine gold glitter particles. This one has fine pink glitter too.
I think this one might me similar to OPI’s Jinx. In the bottle they seem very similar. I’m going to compare the two as soon as I swatched Jinx, which is still laying in my drawer… unopened. [EDIT: check out the comparison here]anny she's amazing - desert glamAfter dinner show, is, to me, a hard to describe shade. First of all, it is more greenish than the picture shows. It’s more leaning to sea foam green as you can see from the bottle shot at the end of this post. This one has silver shimmer and small round silver glitter. The textured finish is rougher comparing to the ones above. Great shade!anny after dinner show - desert glamRock your nails, a silver base with strong purple undertones. It has the same formula as After dinner show, as well as the silver shimmer and round silver glitter. anny rock your nails - desert glam

Zoya: London – Pixie Dust

Here’s another beauty from the Pixie Dust Collection by Zoya.
Meet London:zoya london - pixie dustThis was sent to me by Holly at Miss Holly Berries, in our swap back in February. Thanks again girl! :*

Zoya describes this polish as a fog gray with a sugared sparkle. I couldn’t have described it better. It has the same silver glitter particles as his cousin, Vespa.
To make this swatch a bit different than usual, I decided on creating a gradient manicure with London. It is such an easy way to give a textured polish just a little bit extra. Lacey at Lace & Lacquers created a great tutorial of how to do this. Easy ha!zoya london - pixie dust2What do you think of the textured trend?

Thanks for watching!

P2 Sand Style

A while back the lovely Luchessa at Beauty Expression by Luchessa sent me a surprise package filled with polishes 😀 Isn’t she the sweetest?! Among with other lovely polishes she sent me four textured polishes by P2.

P2 is certainly going along with the textured trend that is going on lately. Their textured range is called Sand Style and consists of six different shades:sand style polishesFrom left to right:
#040 illegal (swatch below)
#050 confidential (swatch below)
#020 lovesome (swatch below)
#030 seductive (swatch below)
#010 adorable
#060 strict

I’d like to show you the four shades that Luchessa has sent me plus a surprise at the end of this post.

All swatches are with a base coat and two coats of color.

illegal, a bright red base with gold and red glitter particles.p2 illegal
lovesome, a bright pink base packed with gold and magenta glitter particles.p2 lovesome

seductive, a plum base packed with gold glitter particles.p2 seductive
confidential, a denim blue base packed with gold, blue and purple glitter particles. p2 confidential
Lovely ha! I love them all. The formula is fantastic and very easy to work with. Obviously they all dry to a matte textured finish with sparkle. You’ll need two coats for full opacity. The trick to really let the textured finish show off is to let the first coat dry thoroughly before applying the second one. The removal is a bit more difficult than a ‘regular’ polish but they’re not that stubborn as for example OPI’s and Zoya’s textured polishes.

EDIT [05-08-2013]: GIVEAWAY CLOSED!

Luchessa is giving away three of these Sand Style polishes of your choice plus a Ultra rich hand serum with grape seed and evening primrose oil & permute extract.
Luchessa really loves it. It has a great AEF vitamin complex that moisturizes your hands overnight. Who doesn’t want perfectly moisturized soft hands?

Zoya Vespa – Pixie Dust Collection

Recently the sweet Holly at Misshollyberries and I did a polish swap. It was my first swap and I love it 😀 Thanks so much Holly for making my first swap a great success! At least, if everything arrives safely with you 😉
Besides a ton of other gorgeous polishes that Holly chose for me, I am now the happy owner of two of Zoya’s Pixie Dust Collection, London and this one Vespa. zoya vespaZoya describes Vespa as a Mint Kiss with a sugared sparkle, in the exclusive Zoya PixieDust Matte Sparkle formula. I couldn’t have described it better. It has very fine silver glitter that makes this polish so sparkling. It’s more sparkling in real life than the pictures show. A matte textured finish with sparkle. Awesome ha! I used three thin coats which quickly dried. And yes, it’s gritty, but not as much as rough as I expected it to be. zoya vespa1I love it. How about you?
