Catrice: Vienna Rose Woods + ARTful Red – LE Viennart Collection

Hi lovelies!

Catrice recently released a new limited edition collection called Viennart. Today I have two of the four polishes from this collection to show you.catrice - vienna rose woods - artful red1For my base I used two coats of Vienna Rose Woods. This has a lovely shimmer running throughout which sadly my camera refused to capture. The formula is nice but I think you’ll need three thin coats for full coverage when you wear it on its own. The warm red is called ARTful Red, also two coats. I love that one. It has a gorgeous shimmer or are these flecks? Either way, it is so pretty! The formula is perfect and it has a great pigmentation. catrice - vienna rose woods - artful redThis turned out to be a pretty combination, don’t you think?

Thanks for stopping by! :*

El Corazon: 423-12 – Shimmer

Hi guys!

For all of you that also follow me on Instagram and have seen the picture of the worst-nail-break-ever… it has got to the point that I needed to cut it down with the result that it is now an ultra nubbin *sad face*. I feel like ET for some reason 😦
I have deleted the photo due to the high gross factor (bloody and stuff).

I rarely break a nail and if so, it’s often just a corner. The nail on my index (of my Cinderella hand, thank goodness) had broken on the nail bed. You can imagine how much that hurts. Ugh!
Anyway I just wanted to say thanks for all your sweet comments!

Moving on to today’s polish… 423-12 is part of the Shimmer Collection by El Corazon. The shimmer in this is so fine that it gives the polish a stunning glow. The color remninds me of watermelons. It’s so juicy and squishy. The formula is lovely and a party to work with. This is three thin coats plus top coat:el corazon - 423-12 shimmerel corazon - 423-12 shimmer1

Essence – Road Trip Collection

The promised tutorial for the Tie Dye nails will be up asap, after I’m done switching my YouTube channel 😀 Sorry for the delay! Hope you’ll like some swatches instead…

Awesome was the first word that popped in my head when I saw pics of the Road Trip Collection that was recently released by Essence. Thermal, textured and duo chrome in one four piece collection? Yes, please!

Usually I like to save the best for last but I felt like I just needed to share I Don’t Care! I Love It! first. From the looks of the bottle I expected yet another purple/blue duo chrome that we’ve already seen in a previous collection. But what was I thinking? Nooo… it is absolutely fantastic. And I’m pretty sure I’m not saying that very often with Essence’s Limited Edition collections. This first photo shows that it’s a pretty duo chrome…essence - i don't care i love it2But look at it from a totally different angle:essence - i don't care i love itSome more indirect sunlight:essence - i don't care i love it3The best part… it’s fully opaque in two coats! Thumbs up! I used three thin instead to cover my free edges 😉 If you’re looking for a pretty and budget proof duo chrome polish, this is for you! And if you’re planning on rockin’ this polish a lot then I strongly advice to stock up a back up or two. It’s a tiny bottle (5 ml)! I mean for just €1,75 that’s totally doable, right?
Oh and this is with NO top coat!

Okay… on to the other 3 polishes of this collection… [insert *sigh*]

Galaxy Nails – Tutorial

I love galaxy manicures! They never get out of fashion and there are so many different ways of creating a galaxy on your nails. galaxy1

I finally have better lightning so I found myself filming again 🙂 Yay! Here’s the tutorial I made for these galaxy nails. A step by step guide and a list of which products I’ve used is listed below.

A tip before we start: I like to use cuticle oil before painting my nails. That way your cuticles won’t suffer that much when cleaning up with acetone.

How to:

  • Use a base coat to protect your nails and wait for it to dry.
  • Paint your nails with a black polish and wait for it to dry.
  • Use a small piece of a sponge and tweezers to sponge the first color on your nails. you really don’t have to think much about where you sponge your colors. Randomness has the prettiest outcome if you ask me 😉
  • Repeat step 3 with the other colors and wait for it to dry a bit.
  • Add a holographic top coat for extra sparkling.
  • (If desired) Add a coat of fast drying top coat for a long lasting result.
  • Clean up with a small (eye liner) brush and acetone or nail polish remover.
  • Treat your cuticles with a few drops of cuticle oil and you’re done!

galaxyProducts used:

  • Yellow Stopper (as a peel off base coat)
  • China Glaze Liquid Leather (black base)
  • ANNY Blue Bikini Girl (teal blue)
  • Essence Hattrick! (white)
  • OPI That’s Berry Daring (pink)
  • ANNY Sunday in park (yellow)
  • OPI Into The Night (blue)
  • Material Girl (without the large circle glitter): available at my shop (holo top coat)
  • Sally Hansen Insta Dri (top coat)

I hope you enjoyed this video! :*

Catrice – Le Grand Bleu Collection

Happy Friday!

What’s better than having amazing friends in this nail community with who you can share the crazy-ness? I mean, no one else truly understands why you need a billion shades of red, right? Soraya lives closer to the border to Germany than I do and she picked up some of the polishes from the Le Grand Bleu Collection by Catrice for me. Thanks again, sweetheart! Sadly these aren’t available here in the Netherlands.

First up Entering Atlantis, a denim blue hue packed with silver shimmer. It does actually look like denim, color wise. This is two coats plus top coat and one coat of Material Girl on my accent nail. Material Girl is now available (in limited quantities) at my shop 😉catrice - entering atlantiscatrice - entering atlantis1And here’s Bella Aquarella, a bright aqua blue shimmer polish. Perfect for Summer! It is on the sheer side. Shown is three thin coats plus top coat and there’s still some VNL. I don’t mind that with this polish but it’s something to keep in mind when you’re planning to buy this. On my accent nail I added one coat of Mermaiday Mayday, also from the Le Grand Bleu Collection. This is a mix of multi sized silver holographic glitter swimming in a sheer pale blue base. I find this too sheer to worn alone but it’s pretty as a topper. The formula is good. A little thick but nothing problematic. catrice - bella aquarella - mermaiday maydaycatrice - bella aquarella - mermaiday mayday1I really like them all but Bella Aquarella is the absolute winner of these three. There’s also a pale lavender shimmer polish (Lavender Laugh) and a gold shimmer polish (Mermaid It) in this collection. I’m curious about Lavender Laugh. The bottle pics that I’ve seen look amazing 🙂 You’ll probably see them in the near future on Soraya’s blog and/or Instagram account.

El Corazon: 530a – Confetti

Hi beauties!

Today I have another El Corazon polish to show you. You might have noticed that I got a little hooked on this brand to say the least. In my defense… the unique shaped bottles hold 16 ml of nail polish and are available for a great price. And the ones I’ve tried so far all have a great formula. I’m thrilled to finally have easy access to some of the most awesome brands from all over the world 🙂

Here’s 530a from the Confetti Collection:el corazon - 530a confettiThis polish is amazing I don’t even know where to begin to describe it. Looking at the bottle I’d never thought this is actually a clear base. It’s jam-packed with black and white micro glitter and is so dense that it’s completely opaque in just two coats. Amazing! Oh… and it’s not as gritty as you might expect from a glitter polish. The glitter particles are so so tiny that one coat of top coat will result in a smooth and super shiny finish.el corazon - 530a confetti1Funny story about this beauty… A few months back Nailluminati (formerly Gimme All The Polish) and I did a massive swap and I included this one because I knew she’d love it. The minute I saw her photo of it I kicked myself for not buying it for myself, too. Of course it was sold out at that time. But recently I received a package from El Corazon and to my pleasant surprise this one was in there too. Thanks so much Luidmila and crew!

I hope you’re ready to see more of this brand because I have lots of more beauties to show you 😀
