Attention purple lovers! I fell in love with this stunning polish called Royal Cupcake by ANNY. Two easy, smooth and super glossy coats here plus top coat. This has a stunning magenta shimmer running throughout. For some sparkle I’ve added one coat of Shake It Take It, also by ANNY. Love love love!
I believe Royal Cupcake is a limited edition polish. It came with a fun cupcake shaped Christmas ornament. If you’d like to add this gorgeous polish to your collection, look for a small clear pouch at the Douglas store. I believe there’s also a golden version.
Ahhh look at this gorgeousness! This is 512afrom the Confetti range by El Corazon.
El Corazon keeps amaze me with the amazing formula of their polishes. This is another micro glitter but this one is holographic. Yay! Lilac and holographic micro glitter swimming in a pink base. It dries super fast to a semi matte and slihtly gritty finish. I used two coats for full coverage. Then I added two coats of top coat. This polish is top coat thirsty so one coat simply doesn’t give a smooth and glossy finish. Nevertheless I absolutely love this!
This polish is, along with many other amazing polishes from great brands, available at Hypnotic Polish (worldwide shipping!).
I think there are only a few nude/beige/brown shades that suit my skin tone. Although I like a good ‘poo hue’, they don’t always look flattering. And some nude shades makes me look sick. For example, I really like a good mustard yellow polish but it just doesn’t look pretty with my skin tone. Now, here’s a soft beige hue with a satin finish that I really love:I think this color suits my skin tone pretty well. And the formula, spot on! New York City Callis one of the new shades, recently released by Essence. It has a satin finish. Lovely! This is two easy coats, no top coat. Another new shade from Essence is I Love My Blue Jeans, which I used for the tips of my nails. The label on the cap of the bottle says this should have a suede finish. I don’t know about that but it is pretty for sure 😀What do you think of these?
I’m back with a thermal polish! 😀 172 from the Termo range by Dance Legend changes from silver/white when warm to purple/crimson when warm. It’s jam packed with shimmer. L-O-V-E! The formula is great, opaque in two flawless coats.
Have you ever seen a (sort of) white polish that isn’t streaky but is opaque in two coats? Naked Venus by ANNY is a very pale pink cream polish that has a perfect formula. I absolutely love it! It’s so clean and fresh and yet so feminine. This is two flawless coats of Naked Venus. I added a bit of Sexy Nails, also by ANNY, on the tips of my nails to give it a little bit of sparkle. I think this combination turned out so pretty and I’ll be definitely wearing it more often. What do you think about (off) white polishes?
I’ve found a gorgeous polish that would be especially perfect for Fall. Amethyst from the Sahara Crystal Collection by Dance Legend is such a gorgeous color! This textured polish is packed with lots of fine magenta glitter/shimmer which makes it very interesting to stare at all day 😀 It’s very pigmented. The formula is good. I used two coats for these photo’s. Lovely, don’t you think?
When I saw that Catrice released an Ombre Top Coat I just needed to try it out. I mean, wouldn’t it be great to create an ombre look by just having to apply multiple coats of top coat?
Oh and have you seen their new Luxury Lacquers for Fall? There are eight new shades. This time they come in square shaped bottles which give them a chic look. I will be swatching and reviewing them soon, so stay tuned!
On to the Ombre Top Coat. It looks brownish in the bottle. The formula is extremely liquid and therefore slightly runny. But no worries, with careful application that shouldn’t be a problem. The label on the bottle says: “Get the exclusive Ombre Look on your nail. The Ombre Top Coat turns your light nail polish colour one shade darker with each coat“. It should work with all light colors. Alright, time to put it to the test! I used three coats of Lilactric, also by Catrice as my base color. Love this shade! Then I did the following: pointer: one coat of HK Girl top coat by Glisten & Glow; middle: one coat of Ombre Top Coat; ring: two coats of Ombre Top Coat; pinky: three coats of Ombre Top Coat.
As mentioned, the formula is extremely liquid. Also, I find that it doesn’t apply evenly, meaning you can see some brushstrokes that turned out darker. Nevertheless, I really like the effect that this top coat gives. I do think that it works even better with a non shimmery base color. I will try that soon too. Also, of course I need to try if it works with darker colors, even when the bottle says it’s meant for lighter colors. I’m curious!Tell, me… what do you think of this top coat?
