What’s better than having amazing friends in this nail community with who you can share the crazy-ness? I mean, no one else truly understands why you need a billion shades of red, right? Soraya lives closer to the border to Germany than I do and she picked up some of the polishes from the Le Grand Bleu Collection by Catrice for me. Thanks again, sweetheart! Sadly these aren’t available here in the Netherlands.
First up Entering Atlantis, a denim blue hue packed with silver shimmer. It does actually look like denim, color wise. This is two coats plus top coat and one coat of Material Girl on my accent nail. Material Girl is now available (in limited quantities) at my shop 😉And here’s Bella Aquarella, a bright aqua blue shimmer polish. Perfect for Summer! It is on the sheer side. Shown is three thin coats plus top coat and there’s still some VNL. I don’t mind that with this polish but it’s something to keep in mind when you’re planning to buy this. On my accent nail I added one coat of Mermaiday Mayday, also from the Le Grand Bleu Collection. This is a mix of multi sized silver holographic glitter swimming in a sheer pale blue base. I find this too sheer to worn alone but it’s pretty as a topper. The formula is good. A little thick but nothing problematic. I really like them all but Bella Aquarella is the absolute winner of these three. There’s also a pale lavender shimmer polish (Lavender Laugh) and a gold shimmer polish (Mermaid It) in this collection. I’m curious about Lavender Laugh. The bottle pics that I’ve seen look amazing 🙂 You’ll probably see them in the near future on Soraya’s blog and/or Instagram account. What do you think of these?
I am so so sad that Rhonni, the founder of Ninja Polish has closed the business 😦
I’ve been searching for some of my lemmings for a very long time but most of them are nowhere to be found. Every now and them I search the web to see if I can find some of them. Most of them are being sold by ridiculous prices. I mean, I am dying to add more Ninja Polishes to my collection but I am not paying $75.00 for one polish. You?
I hope Ninja Polish will return some day!
That being said, I am now the proud owner of Alexandrite! For real! Woo hoo! I found it on Ebay a while back. I’m not the biggest fan of auctions on Ebay because it’s so much stress keeping up with the time and make sure you bid on the exact right second. But for this one I sat tight behind my laptop and eventually won it. Score! Look! You can tell what all the fuzz is about, right? Mind blowing! This is one coat over black undies. Check out the bottle!*gasp* Please come back soon, Ninja Polish![end of drooling session]
Yesterday I showed you my blue nail art design made with three polishes of ANNY‘s Golden Roller Girls Collection. Today I like to show you my gradient mani that I made with two of the duo chrome shades of this collection:
This is a gradient with Hot To Handle and Wild At Heart(tips), both extremely shimmery duo chrome shades. The color shift isn’t very noticeable on the nails but that doesn’t make them less pretty. The first coat of these is a little sheer but a second coat results in full coverage. I really like that ANNY came up with three chrome polishes. It’s a nice addition to their collection.
Swatches of this collection and the previous textured collection are coming soon 🙂Thanks for stopping by! :*
ANNY‘s newest collection is called Golden Roller Girls and consists of three multi chrome shades, a blue shimmer and two blue creams. Here’s my nail art that I created with some polishes of this collection:The light blue is called Skinny Jeans. The ultra fine silver shimmer gives it a semi satin-isch look if worn without top coat. The formula is perfect and almost a one coater. The medium blue cream is called Jeans Calling and also has a great and smooth formula. And then there’s a deep dark blue which is called Denim On The Rocks. Again, great formula. I absolutely love the formula of the cream polishes from ANNY. I made the dots with Highway To Heaven, also by ANNY. This is a gorgeous light blue hue packed with silver glitter with a textured finish. This one is part of a previous collection which consists of three new textured polishes and three ‘recycled’ ones (full size instead of the previous mini’s).
I used nailvinyls to create the squares. Personally I prefer nailvinyls over striping tape because they are easier to remove with less risk to pull off the base color.
Lastly I topped it of with my new fave top coat by HK Girl, Glisten & Glow (before adding the dots!).
Swatches of this collection and the mentioned textured collection are coming soon 🙂You can find ANNY polishes exclusively at Douglas store’s. The nailvinyls are available here.
So I wasn’t going to pick up the Cookies & Cream Collection by Essence because of two things. First the colors… They’re more Fall/Winter appropriate if you ask me. And then the formula. A mix of pearly and frosty. Nooooo! But then the buy one get one free offer came to my attention. And although I still wasn’t sure buying these, I did do exactly that. What can I say? Oh well, let’s take a look: From index to pinky: Last Night A Cookie Saved My Life Cakepop, That’s Top! Yummy, Yummy! Macaron, C’est Bon!
The only one I do kind off like is Last Night a Cookie Saved My Life (index), which is least streaky. They’re all opaque in two coats except for Macaron, C’est Bon! (pinky), which needed three coats.
All in all this collection is a bit ‘meh’ for me. What do you think?
Back at the end of last year Essence came with three textured polishes (which are still patiently waiting in my untrieds pile… shame on me!), as known as the Sparkle Sand Effect line. Recently they added a few more textured polishes. One of them is Hello Rosy, a sort of vintage pink hue packed with matte pink glitter. I especially like this one for it’s unique color. I used two coats, no top coat. Formula is okay, not perfect but definitely nothing to complain about. I did a quick swatch with last years red polish from this line and this one dries faster. What do you think of this one?
Have you spotted Catrice’s newest collection yet? The Haute Future Collection consists of five new polishes plus a new flakies top coat. iROSEdescentis a brown-isch nude holographic polish. The formula is great. Full coverage in two easy coats. Yay!In direct sun light:Thanks so much, Soraya for picking this one up for me! Mwah! :*
ANNY recently released their For Winners – L.A. Film Awards Collection:This collection is right up my alley. Lovely pinks and reds 😀 And there is a white cream in there too! I’m always looking for the perfect white cream with a good coverage and minimum streaking. What Else is a pure white cream. The formula is on the thin side but builds nice and smooth to an opaque finish in three thin coats. Perfect as undies for some nail art! Red Inspiration, a medium red cream with strong pink undertones. I love it! The formula is perfect. Shown here is two coats with no top coat!Save The Last Dance, a classic red cream. You can never go wrong with a good red cream. Also, you can never have enough red creams 😉 The formula is slightly thicker than Red Inspiration. This is two coats with no top coat:Dark Romance, a dark grey cream with hints of green and purple. It has a gorgeous purple shimmer running through out but sadly it doesn’t translate on the nails very well. This dries a little darker than how it looks in the bottle. Shown here is two coats with no top coat: If you’d like to see full swatches of the other three shades of this collection, please let me know 😉
