Today I have two new (I think) shades by Essence to show you:The bright blue is called Paradise and the blurple is Wonderfuel. They’re both on the sheer side and I needed three coats of each for full opacity. There’s still some slight visible nail line with Paradise, but I don’t mind that. Both shades aren’t very unique in my Essence stash. I believe there are a few that are possible dupes, similar, or in the same family. I’ve found the following four in my stash that I think are close: splash! (172), finding dori, i don’t care! i love it! and you wow’d me again. I haven’t done a side by side swatch comparison though they look close. What do you think of these? And let me know if you’d like to see a side by side swatch comparison of the ones mentioned.
As of today a new collection by Miss Sporty is available at selected stores. Three new Candy Shine Glitter Effect polishes have been added to their range. These three glitter bombs have no names but are numbered instead:Today I’d like to show you the green one, number 1. This is a clear base packed with green and holographic glitter in a variety of sizes and shapes. There are also some tiny green bar glitters in the mix. The formula is good with a nice glitter payoff. I chose to use a peachy pink polish as my base color. Shown is one coat layered over two coats of A Gallon Of Melon by Catrice. I topped it with one coat of top coat for a glossy and long lasting finish. The Candy Shine Glitter Effect polishes are now available at selected stores (7ml each).
Is there such a color as midnight purple? If yes, Cabrón by Manglaze is exactly that. Totally loving this one! I used two coats here and added some top coat only on the tips of my nails. Using the sugar spun technique for this seemed like a fab idea for a change 🙂 It’s so easy to do and it looks quite cool, don’t you think? I used my last drops of HK Girl by Glisten & Glow and a small dotting tool for this. Top coat always thickens over time when it’s almost gone so I didn’t need to thicken it up much. This way the last drops of top coat get some love too, instead of getting thrown away. What do you think of this?
Attention purple lovers! I fell in love with this stunning polish called Royal Cupcake by ANNY. Two easy, smooth and super glossy coats here plus top coat. This has a stunning magenta shimmer running throughout. For some sparkle I’ve added one coat of Shake It Take It, also by ANNY. Love love love!
I believe Royal Cupcake is a limited edition polish. It came with a fun cupcake shaped Christmas ornament. If you’d like to add this gorgeous polish to your collection, look for a small clear pouch at the Douglas store. I believe there’s also a golden version.
Catrice recently released a new limited edition collection called Viennart. Today I have two of the four polishes from this collection to show you.For my base I used two coats of Vienna Rose Woods. This has a lovely shimmer running throughout which sadly my camera refused to capture. The formula is nice but I think you’ll need three thin coats for full coverage when you wear it on its own. The warm red is called ARTful Red, also two coats. I love that one. It has a gorgeous shimmer or are these flecks? Either way, it is so pretty! The formula is perfect and it has a great pigmentation. This turned out to be a pretty combination, don’t you think?
I’m so excited to see all the new collections that are going around right now 🙂 Catrice added lots of new polishes to their regular line but they also added 16 (!) more polishes to their Luxury Lacquer line (not to talk about their new collection for Fall). 8 of those are part of the Liquid Metal line. There are 4 matte polishes and 4 shiny ones. Today I like to show you the 4 matte polishes. These polishes come in square bottles instead of the regular round ones. So chic! Swatches and review below! 🙂
I think there are only a few nude/beige/brown shades that suit my skin tone. Although I like a good ‘poo hue’, they don’t always look flattering. And some nude shades makes me look sick. For example, I really like a good mustard yellow polish but it just doesn’t look pretty with my skin tone. Now, here’s a soft beige hue with a satin finish that I really love:I think this color suits my skin tone pretty well. And the formula, spot on! New York City Callis one of the new shades, recently released by Essence. It has a satin finish. Lovely! This is two easy coats, no top coat. Another new shade from Essence is I Love My Blue Jeans, which I used for the tips of my nails. The label on the cap of the bottle says this should have a suede finish. I don’t know about that but it is pretty for sure 😀What do you think of these?
Have you ever seen a (sort of) white polish that isn’t streaky but is opaque in two coats? Naked Venus by ANNY is a very pale pink cream polish that has a perfect formula. I absolutely love it! It’s so clean and fresh and yet so feminine. This is two flawless coats of Naked Venus. I added a bit of Sexy Nails, also by ANNY, on the tips of my nails to give it a little bit of sparkle. I think this combination turned out so pretty and I’ll be definitely wearing it more often. What do you think about (off) white polishes?
A bit later than planned I have finally managed to put together my first haul video. I’ve been a good girl last month, if I may say so myself. But honestly, for this haul I started collecting around the second week of July and the ones I purchased last week aren’t included. Anyway, 21 polishes isn’t bad, right? Let’s take a look:
The promised tutorial for the Tie Dye nails will be up asap, after I’m done switching my YouTube channel 😀 Sorry for the delay! Hope you’ll like some swatches instead…
Awesome was the first word that popped in my head when I saw pics of the Road Trip Collection that was recently released by Essence. Thermal, textured and duo chrome in one four piece collection? Yes, please!
Usually I like to save the best for last but I felt like I just needed to share I Don’t Care! I Love It! first. From the looks of the bottle I expected yet another purple/blue duo chrome that we’ve already seen in a previous collection. But what was I thinking? Nooo… it is absolutely fantastic. And I’m pretty sure I’m not saying that very often with Essence’s Limited Edition collections. This first photo shows that it’s a pretty duo chrome…But look at it from a totally different angle:Some more indirect sunlight:The best part… it’s fully opaque in two coats! Thumbs up! I used three thin instead to cover my free edges 😉 If you’re looking for a pretty and budget proof duo chrome polish, this is for you! And if you’re planning on rockin’ this polish a lot then I strongly advice to stock up a back up or two. It’s a tiny bottle (5 ml)! I mean for just €1,75 that’s totally doable, right?
Oh and this is with NO top coat!
