Another matte mani today! Here’s Bogeyman, a collab shade by Anna Gorelova and Dance Legend:What an a-w-e-s-o-m-e polish! Flakies everywhere in a dark brown base. Formula wise I thought this would be streaky, but not at all! This is two coats, no top coat. This polish came with its own adjustable cabochon ring which shows the flakies even better:Lovely, isn’t it?
In the post where I showed you Fuck Off & Dye and Matte is Murder by ManGlaze I told you that I immediately fell in love with not only their matte polishes but also their awesome labels and polish names. So here I am again with two other ManGlaze’s!For this mani I used three coats of Mayonaisse as my base color. This is a matte white polish. It’s a little harder to work with than the others that I’ve tried. White polishes are often a struggle, glossy or matte so I’m fine with that. You need to work fast to avoid streaking and give the layers a bit more time to dry before adding the next one. Then I used a thin nail art brush (striper) and Hot Mess to create a waterfall effect. I believe this one was made to be paired with Mayonaisse but I’m not sure about that. Silver sparkles everywhere. Awesome! What do you think of matte white polishes? And how about this combo?
Are you familiar with the indie brand ManGlaze? No? Go check them out here! Matte nail polishes only in a variety of awesome colors with even more awesome labels. Sadly they don’t ship internationally BUT there are some great web shops that offer them. I’ve found both polishes that I’ll show you today at Norway Nails. Thanks Wenche for the fast shipping and lovely packaging! This is Matte Is Murder (matte black) and Fuck Off & Dye(matte pink). Both have a great formula and required two coats for full coverage. After trying these I’m totally hooked and need more ManGlaze in my life. Those names! Aren’t they just fan-freakin-tastic?! And can we take a moment to admire the awesome labels:AMAZEBALLS, right?! Do you need some ManGlaze in your life too? Any favorites?
When you’d like to create a cool effect on your nails that’s not complicated to make and above all is not time consuming you should give the so called saran wrap technique a try. Easy peasy! Really! For this mani I used four polishes from the Matte Velvet Collection by Rimmel London: Velvet Touch (grey), Midnight Kiss (blue), Sumptious Red (red/purple) and Purple Opulence (purple). I applied two coats of Midnight Kiss on the nails of my index- and middle finger and two coats of Velvet Touch on the nails of my ring finger and pinky. Then I used the three opposite colors and pieces of saran wrap to create the design.
That’s it 😀
More flakies? Yes! For this mani I used Fireworks Galaxy on my middle- and ring finger (sponged) and number 162from the Matte and Shine Effect Collection by El Corazon on my index nail and pinky. This matte polish by El Corazon is fabulous. The formula is a breeze to work with and I just love the matte, satin like finish. It has lots and lots of blue particles… so pretty! El Corazon polishes are available at their website and at Hypnotic Polish.
Fireworks Galaxy is available at my shop (along with the other flakie polishes from the Galaxy Collection).
It’s quite difficult to find a good matte nail polish. I’ve tried some good ones but I’ve also discovered that most matte polishes tend to leave brush strokes. This is 121 by El Corazon. After one coat I knew it needed a second one for full coverage. I thought that it’ll definitely get streaky, but no: not at all. Completely smooth in 2 coats! Oh and on a side note… look at that bottle: matte! Such a nice touch 😀For my accent nail I used a sponge and Fireworks Galaxy (available at my shop) to add a bit of color and topped it with one coat of matte top coat.El Corazon polishes are available at their website and at Hypnotic Polish.
I’m so excited to see all the new collections that are going around right now 🙂 Catrice added lots of new polishes to their regular line but they also added 16 (!) more polishes to their Luxury Lacquer line (not to talk about their new collection for Fall). 8 of those are part of the Liquid Metal line. There are 4 matte polishes and 4 shiny ones. Today I like to show you the 4 matte polishes. These polishes come in square bottles instead of the regular round ones. So chic! Swatches and review below! 🙂
‘Use as many untrieds in one mani as you can’, was one of the themes of the ‘The Never Ending Pile Challenge’. I wanted to do a splatter mani but after five fails I gave that up (for now). So I ended up combining three out of four of the Street Artist Collection by Maybelinne (Color Show) over white undies (ANNY What Else):These three are all top coats with various sizes black hex glitter plus blue, green and orange glitter. Boom Box Black (black and green) Alley Attitude(black and blue) Urban Vibe (black and orange).
I used a matte top coat by Wet n Wild to finish it off. I like how this simple mani has such a great effect due to the color combination and the matte top coat. :*
I can’t believe that I missed the Matte Velvet Collection by Zoya! For some reason I completely missed it. This is Savita:L-O-V-E! I am seriously loving this so much that I’m gonna order Posh right away! Look at it, no brush strokes! The formula is pure perfection and very pigmented. I used two easy coats here. Of course I needed to check out how it looked with top coat:Wow, look at that shimmer!
And take a look how this arrived! Such chic packaging. Yeah, I’m a sucker for packaging 😀What do you think of this? Have you picked up any polishes of this collection? If you like matte finishes this is perfect for you!
Yesterday’s theme of the ‘Oh Mon Dieu! It’s the Rather Awesome 31 Day Challenge Giveaway’ was Matte:As mentioned yesterday, I only have one matte top coat which isn’t the best. Oh well, I did my best to create some pretty designs to compensate it. This is two coats of Liquid Leather by China Glaze, one coat of Purple Universe by Koh (by using striping tape) and one coat of matte top coat. I’m not very happy with the final result, but it will do, right?
