Shimmerfishby MAC was sitting in my untried pile for quite a while and I thought it was time to give it a try. It’s from the LE Alluring Aquatic Collection which I think is no longer available at this point. Can we take a moment to adore the cap? Fantastic! It looks like it has little drops of water on it.As for the polish… so shimmery! My photo’s are NOT true to color. Sometimes the top coat leaves a blue glow in my photo’s 😦 And although I like how it looks in my photo’s, the color is more like how it looks in the bottle in the photo above.
I thought this would be on the sheer side, a topper even. But no, it is super dense and could be a one coater when applied more generous. I used two coats plus top coat here.
Thanks for stopping by! :*
The minute I saw that Maria from Hypnotic Polish added MILV water decals to her store I knew I needed to try some. They look fantastic and I have heard nothing but great things about them. The ones that caught my immediate attention were the peacock decals (number N156):The packaging says to use exclusively a white base color before application. That’s what I did here. You can cut the designs however you like, a great plus if you ask me. That way you can also choose to just add a little piece and save the rest for another mani. And they are different sized. Also, this particular sheet has three different peacock designs.
After the white base was completely dry I added the piece to a cup filled with water and waited about 30 seconds. I used tweezers to gently slide of the design of it’s back paper and placed it on the nail. I’ve found that dabbing a little water on the nail before applying the decal gives you more room to set in in the right place. Then gently press on the design and give it some time yo dry before applying top coat. Don’t forget to seal the tip(s) of your nail(s) with top coat to prevent the design from chipping.
I paired this design with Washeteriaby MAC. What a lovely color. The formula is nice and creamy. I needed two coats for full opacity. Have you tried MILV water decals yet? They are available at Hypnotic Polish and come in many lovely design.
I’ve been stamping again! This time I went with a gradient look by using three different stamping polishes:For my base I used two coats of Monday Blues by MAC.
Stampingplate is number 04 from the ProXL range by MoYou and I used three stamping polishes by Mundo De Unas:
24 Aqua, 1 White and 5 Turquoise.
To get a gradient effect I randomly added dots of the three colors on the image and scraped from one corner to the other so that the colors slightly bleed into each other.
All you beauty fanatics are probably familiar with MAC‘s Rebel lipstick (love!). Did you know they have an equally named polish too? This is two easy coats of Rebel with a tiny bit of Special Potion, also by MAC sponged on the tips of my nails. Special Potion is a dense glitter bomb containing lots of fine glitters in violet, purple and gold. So pretty! What do you think of this combo?
Alright… first things first…

On to today’s mani! Here’s Bad Fairy from the LE Rocky Horror Collection by MAC:Fire in the hole! Absolutely breath taking! You can layer this over any desired color but I decided to try it on its own and wow how much I love the out come. This is three thin coats plus top coat. I’m not sure if this collection is still available at MAC stores since it’s an LE from last year but it is still available at their (Dutch!) website.
Formidable by MAC is described as a blue/green hue with pink shimmer. This is truly more vibrant in real life! My camera refused to capture the beauty of this. It’s sheer so I decided to apply it over a black base. I think you can get full coverage with three coats though. Thanks for stopping by! :*
Here’s a simple but fun Christmas-y mani for you!
This is three thin coats of Richly Endowed from the Heirloom Mix Collection (LE) by MAC. What a gorgeous red! For the white snow-y french tip I’ve used a dotting tool and Hattrick! by Essence. And lastly, for some sparkle… I’ve applied one coat of Silver Lining(available at my shop) on my accent nail. For some reason this flakie topper keeps looking more gold in photo’s while it is definitely silver in real life!
Wishing you all a lovely Holiday season and a fantastic 2015! May your wishes all come true! :*
