Polish Alcoholic on ETSY

etsy1Hi loves!

Today I have some exciting news for you! I’ve had a hard time keeping it a secret, so here we go:

I love nail polish… *newsflash*! That’s why I finally decided to create my own polish. Whoop whoop PA is on Etsy now! On the shop page you’ll find everything you want to know about my (new) creations and sales 😉

This does absolutely NOT mean that my swatching-, nail art-  and tutorial- days are over! Are you kidding me? Of course not! 😀

My very first treasures are now available at the shop. There are five lovely shades to choose from, all made with super concentrated Spectraflair (35) for the ultimate rainbow effect. And there’s a holo top coat too, also made with Spectraflair:
Out of Space collection1
And here’s a sneak peek of the ‘Out of Space Reloaded collection’ which consists of five color shifting (or duo-/ multichrome) polishes and one holographic glitter topper. These beauties are available from August 20:Out of Space Reloaded collection1International shipping? Of course! 😀
3-free? Got that right!
And yeah, of course I welcome custom orders! I feel that your nails say a lot about you. So, if you’re looking for that particular polish but can’t find it anywhere? Don’t hesitate to contact me. I’d be happy to create something unique especially for you. With love!

Happy polishing! :*

Brijit’s Digits Boutique

brijits digitsHi!

You all know Brijit from Brijits Digits right? Did you know that, besides blogging, she also creates her own nail polish? We’ve got ourselves another European indie maker 😀 Yay! Click on the image below to view her creations:Eclair White Outline Doily Square BoutiqueHere are swatches of three of her many lovely creations:

Out of Peach, a pinky peach creme polish with golden shimmer and matte hex glitter in gray. Isn’t it gorgeous? The formula is, as with all of these three, great and easy to work with. This is two generous coats plus top coat:brijits digits out of peachFull Maroon, a dusty maroon hue packed with lots of sparkleness. I don’t think I have anything similar to this in my stash. It’s lovely! Definitely a perfect shade for Fall. Shown here is two coats plus top coat: brijits digits full maroonPeahen Party, a bright purple hue packed with lots of different size and shape glitter in green, purple and even blue. You know I love purple so it’s no surprise that this is my favorite of these three. The formula is a bit thicker than the other two. I think that’s because there’s neon pigment in the formulation. We all know that those are a big pain in the behind to work with, let alone adding it to nail polish. And the big bonus: no fishing or re placing of the glitter needed! It spreads nice and even. So, thumbs up Brijit! This is two coats plus top coat:brijits digits peahen partyGet your Brijit’s Digits polishes here! And while you’re there, I’d highly recommend to add one (or two or maybe three) of Brijit’s cuticle oil to your shopping cart! They are perfect and smell divine!

Ps.: like most Indie polishes, these are created with love in limited quantities. If you see something you like, you might want to grab it while it’s still available 😉 I feel like a rich girl having these unique awesomeness in my stash 😀

Thank you Brijit for giving me the opportunity to try some of your creations! You rock!

xoxo

Love Nailz: The Sabrina Duo

iusb_760x100.11800620_ew6iHappy Friday beauties!

Louise, the genius behind Love Nailz and I again joined forces which resulted in this duo nail polish: Sabrina Duo (in case you didn’t know already: that’s me :D), which consists of two polishes called Hope and Care. Louise created this duo to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis. Isn’t she the best?! Thank you sweetheart! This means a lot!
This duo is now available through her Etsy shop for $12.00. All profits from the sales of this polish duo will be donated to Multiple Sclerosis Research. Specifically MS Society. il_570xN.459643540_oad0
Here’s my swatch of Care, a stunning red/purple duo toned shade with red micro shreds. This is opaque in two flawless coats. I used three here without top coat. It’s perfect for layering too, to create a totally different look. Obviously Louise knows exactly what I love 🙂
sabrina duo1

And below you see Hope, a mix of ultra fine holographic silver, red and black glitter. This is three easy coats on it’s own. The picture is taken in daylight which reveals to me a unique look. I have never seen a polish like this before. A generous coat over a black base will bring out the holo effect of the fine glitter. See Louise’s swatch at the top of this post. sabrina duo2Isn’t this the most amazing way to raise awareness? And even if you’re not in to polish I bet you can make someone who does very happy! So, what are you waiting for? Head over to Louise’s Etsy shop and get yourself this beautiful polish duo for $12.00.  Remember: all profits from the sales of this polish duo will be donated to Multiple Sclerosis research.

And if you prefer a donation you can do that here.

Thanks so much!

Piper Polish

Today’s featured indie brand on the blog: Piper Polish, a creation by Erin Piper.piper polishLet’s jump right into the swatches:

Not So Basic Grupple, a sheer light grey base packed with different size blue and silver glitter. The formula is good. The glitter spreads easily and don’t stick together. I used one coat over a greyish blue base (ANNY Blue fashion show). piper polish not so basic grupple
Night Fall, a steel grey duochrome that shifts from blue to purple and even pink. As with most duochromes I had a hard time photographing the color shifting 😦 I created a triangle french tip by using two thin coats of Night Fall over a black base (China Glaze Liquid Leather).piper polish night fall
Cotton Candy, a clear base packed with different size and color glitter. A true glitterbomb! I created a gradient by slightly dabbing Cotton Candy over China Glaze’s Tart-y for the party.piper polish cotton candy
Color Of The Year, a vibrant green cream with blue and purple shimmer. This one has a fantastic formula! This is two easy coats on its own.piper polish color of the year
What do you think of these? Any favorites?

You can find these polishes among other lovely creations at Erin’s Etsy shop. Erin offers a Spectraflair top coat too! YAY! 😀

Canvas Nails

I hope everyone is enjoying their Easter weekend! 😀

Here are three creations by Celena, the founder of Canvas Nails.
About Celena:
“I love nail art and one of my favorite things about nail art is picking out nail polish colors! I found out about making handmade nail polish and I knew I had to try it out. Now I’m officially hooked to making nail polish!”

All swatches have a base- and top coat. Pictures are taken in daylight.

canvas nails2Emerald City, a mix of very fine green and blue glitter swimming in a clear base. The formula is very dense. I think this could be worn on it’s own in three coats. The application went flawless. I created a gradient over a minty green base (W.I.C. by Herôme Essaouira).canvas nails emerald city
Bold and Bright Purple, a clear base packed with multi sized round purple blue and silver glitter. The formula is thick. That doesn’t gave me problems with the application though! I created a gradient by slightly ‘dabbing’ the polish on a purple base (W.I.C. by Herôme Dakar). Unfortunately my camera refused to capture the beauty of this polish. When my camera gets close to this much sparkleness it just freaks out. In my macro shot (at the top of this post) this polish looks like a milky lilac base but it really is a clear base. Just so you know 😉canvas nails bold and bright purple
Sky Blue, a mix of blue and silver fine glitter. It has the same consistency as Emerald City. Very easy to work with! I created a gradient over a bright blue base (ANNY Poolgirl).canvas nails sky blueGood to know: Canvas Nails polishes are 3 free which means it does not contain the toxic chemicals DBP, Formaldehyde and Toluene.

Check out all of Celena’s creations at her Etsy shop. You can get a full size bottle of awesomeness for $8.00/€ 6,25! If you’d like to add (one of) the creations shown above, make sure you’ll get it asap! There is still only one of each available!

Northern Star Polish

Today I have two creations of another indie brand for you, Northern Star Polish.nothern star polishAbout Northern Star Polish:
“I’ve been selling polished on Etsy since last March, and am still having a blast with the creative process, pigments and glitter.
I strive to use high quality and durable ingredients in my polishes, which means only using stainless steel agitator balls, solvent resistant glitters and proper suspension base (always DBP, Toulene and Formeldehyde free and never diluted with clear top coat). I personally test all glitters and pigments for months before using them in my products and all polish designs go through a holding and testing period before I release them for sale.
Polishes come in two sizes: 9ml/0.3 oz for $6.00 and 15ml/0.5 oz for $9.00. I’ve recently made the switch from the typical 5ml to 9ml bottles because I think you get more for the money, they’re easier to handle and they’re just cuter! 🙂
I like to include a small thank you gift with all purchases. The bottle of cuticle oil is a recipe of my own making, and is especially great to use after taking a bath or shower to help your skin seal in moisture”.

Onto the swatches! All swatches have a base- and top coat.

Storybook Love (As Your Wish Collection) is described by Kristin as a milky based polish with a touch of Buttercup yellow filled with goldenrod, gold, light mint, white, and pink glitters. It can be worn on it’s own, if you don’t mind a slight visible nail line. I layered two coats of Storybook Love over a sheer nude base. The application went easy and smooth. nothern star polish love storybook
Drop.Your.Sword. (As You Wish Collection), is described by Kristin as a black jelly filled with multiple sizes of silver glitter plus extra tiny red and blue sparkles. This one immediately reminded me of a starry night. Therefore I chose to layer it over a dark blue base to create a galaxies look. The formula, as with Storybook Love, is perfect to work with. Even though my base color was streaky, I really like how this turned out. nothern star polish drop your sword
Check out all Kristin’s creations at her Etsy shop. You can find Northern Star Polish on Facebook too! And… there’s currently a giveaway up which runs until March 31st! Make sure to not miss it 😉

Prettily Inspired Polish by Chelsea

Today I have some creations by Chelsea to share with you. Prettily Inspired Polish is a new indie brand out of Vancouver, BC Canada. All polishes are individually hand-mixed, made in limited small batches, and 3 free.

All swatches have base- and top coat (Seche Vite) and the pictures are taken in daylight.

Kiss Me At Midnight, a blue/green jelly base packed with different size/shape gold, silver and blue glitter. Gold is the dominant color of the glitter. The tiny blue glitter gives this polish a lot of depth. The formula is easy to work with and the glitter spread nice and even. This is one coat of Kiss Me At Midnight over a black base.prettily inspired polish kiss me at midnight
Snowfall, a pale blue (almost clear) jelly base packed with different size/shape silver, baby blue and holo glitter. The formula is great. This is one easy coat over a light blue base.prettily inspired polish snowfall
Starlet, a pink jelly base packed with different size/shape gold, (matte) pink and red glitter. There are matte pink star shaped glitter in the mix. I’ve had a hard time catching them. They tend to sink to the bottom and stick to the side of the bottle. I managed to fish one out of the bottle. Adore him at the nail of my middle finger 🙂 The formula is okay but I needed to slightly replace the glitter to get an even coverage. I think this is a great polish to create a fab jelly sandwich. I layered one coat of Starlet over a red base.prettily inspired polish starlet
Can’t Believe Its Not Butter, a light yellow cream with gold glitter. The formula is on the thick side and streaky at the first coat. A second -thicker- coat evened it out. The gold glitter is hardly visible in the picture. I think that’s because most of them sunk in to the polish. In real life it looks more like how it looks in the bottle 🙂prettily inspired polish can't believe its not butter
Lettuce Leaf, a clear base packed with different size/shape (matte) white, yellow and green glitter. Application went easy because of the great formula. No replacing of the glitter here! I think this is also a great polish for a jelly sandwich. I layered one coat of Lettuce Leaf over a yellow base.prettily inspired polish lettuce leaf
Disco Lights, a fuchsia jelly base packed with different size/shape holo, blue, purple glitter. This is definitely my favorite of these six. Maybe that’s because of the color combo of the glitter? I don’t know, but I love it! I needed to slightly replacing some of the glitter, but that doesn’t gave me any problems with the application or finish. I layered one coat of Disco Lights over  a black base. prettily inspired polish disco lights537215_387474631346277_720383642_n
