Finally we can enjoy some sunbeams. I hope that it’s as sunny where you are as it is here. And although it isn’t Summer yet, I always feel the urge to wear bright polishes as soon as the first sunbeams make their appearance. So here’s a Summer-y nail art:For this many I used five different nail polishes, all by ANNY: What else (white) Indian sun (yellow) Scandalous lives of N.Y. (coral pink) Sunset dreaming (pink) Surfing crocodile (green)
For the design I used dotting tools and for the ‘leafs’ I used a small nail art brush to smudge the white and green. What do you think of these floral nails?
Alright lacqueristas… this girl couldn’t left behind, so here’s my purple mani for the ‘Oh Mon Dieu! It’s the Rather Awesome 31 Day Challenge Giveaway’:You might have noticed the weird ‘bump’ on the side of my index nail. Guess what? That nail as with my pinky nail (!) folded back. That hurts! Thank god they didn’t break (yet) but it looks kinda weird So if you see shorter nails here in the future, you know why I needed to file them down. Fingers crossed that that isn’t necessary.
The base color is Music in the air by ANNY (three coats). After that was completely dry I painted some flower petals with Snow Revolution, also by ANNY. And just for fun, I added some white dots 🙂
What do you think of this mani?
And as promised, here’s a little tutorial:As you can see I’ve had a hard time getting accurate pictures. I hope my explanation helps: 1. Start with a lilac base. 2. 3. 4. Use a square flat nail art brush and medium purple polish to create three flower petals. Lay your brush on the nail and pull the polish back towards the cuticle and give it a quick swipe back. Jump directly to step 5. You don’t want to give it time to dry this time 😉 5. Repeat steps 2, 3 and four by using the polish that you used for the base color. Of course you can do this with any color combinations you like but the most important thing is that the polish that you use for this step is sheer! 6. Use a small nail art brush, dotting tool or toothpick and white polish to create some small dots at the tip of your nail. Finish with a top coat and you’re done!
