piCture pOlish: Bonkers + MILV water decals

Hello!

Another polish that was sitting in my pile of untrieds for way too long is Bonkers by piCture pOlish:picture polish - bonkers - milv n187 1What a lovely creamy purple polish. This has a nice formula and is opaque in two coats. For my accent nail I used water decals by MILV, number N187. I’ve only tried a few of MILV’s designs and I seriously am in love! They are super easy to work with and application is a breeze. Some designs, including this one, are designed to wear over white undies. I’m so pleased with how these turned out.

As mentioned in a previous post, my new camera has a macro lens and I am over the moon excited about it. Not only because now I can take macro photo’s but more because you can see every single tiny detail which aren’t that noticeable with the naked eye. I can recommend it to everyone. So much fun! For example… see all the pixels of the design in the photo below:picture polish - bonkers - milv n187 3I was like ‘holy crap’ when I saw this on full screen. And yes, you can also see the imperfections, such as the fold of the design. But hey, who cares when you can see all the fab details. picture polish - bonkers - milv n187 2Have you tried MILV decals yet? They are available at Hypnotic Polish and come in many different designs.

piCture pOlish: Desire – LE Vampy Chameleon Collection

Hi lovelies!

I’m back with the third polish from the Vampy Chameleon Collection by piCture pOlish. I picked up three out of six shades but I think I might also need to grab Scandal too (see Poison here and Nemesis here). This is Desire:picture polish - desire1Lovely! This one has scattered holographic particles running throughout which I just love! I used three thin coats plus top coat for my photo’s.picture polish - desire2Although the color shift isn’t very strong I still love this shade.picture polish - desireHave you picked up any polishes from this collection? Which one(s) is/are your fave?

piCture pOlish & Very Emily: Eerie

Hi sweeties!

Such a pretty Spring shade:picture polish - eerie1What a lovely color, don’t you agree? The formula is great. I used two coats plus top coat here.picture polish - eerieThanks for stopping by! :*

piCture pOlish: Nemesis – LE Vampy Chameleon Collection

piCture pOlish: Poison – LE Vampy Chameleon Collection

Yessssssssssss! Have you seen the new Vampy Chameleon shades by piCture pOlish?! Wow the freakin’ w-o-w! I picked up three from the six shades that are available and am kicking myself for not also picking up the other three. Definitely will be grabbing them soon 🙂 Let’s start with my favorite (so far), Poison:picture polish - poison1

My photo’s just doesn’t do this polish justice. It is absolutely stunning! I applies three thin coats plus top coat here.picture polish - poison

I purchased this one at The Nailista Shop. They carry more awesome brands among some of which I don’t have a single polish of. Spell Polish and Superchic Lacquer for example. Their shipping is super fast so I’ll be back for more soon 😀

What’s your number one lemming? What polish do you just NEED to have in your life?
Mine? The famous red polish by Louboutin, you know Rouge, the one with the cap that could be considered as a murder weapon :p

piCture pOlish: Nebula

I’m not a huge fan on glitter polishes but I do make exceptions every now and then. Jellies packed with glitter for example. Gotta love the depth of those kind of polishes. I do! Or weird color combinations :p
After seeing a photo of Nebula at DarkNTwistyNails I just needed to have it. picture polish - nebula1Nebula is a collaboration shade by piCture pOlish and The Nail Polish Project. It’s a dark blue jelly packed with blue and pink glitter. This can be worn on it’s own with three coats. I decided to layer it over black to get a galaxy look. These turned out so pretty, don’t you agree? Due to the glitter load it can leave a slight texture finish so I topped it with one generous coats of HK Girl by Glisten & Glow for a smooth finish. picture polish - nebula

piCture pOlish – Brit Nails: Unicorn

Happy New Year!

Look what Santa got me for Christmas! Unicorn, a collab shade by Allie a.k.a. Brit Nails and piCture pOlish. Gotta love everything ‘unicorn’ 😉 Thanks Santa, I love this!picture polish - unicornWhat a fantastic color combo, right?! This is three thin coats plus top coat.picture polish - unicorn1Did you get any nail polish(es) from Santa this year?

:*

piCture pOlish: Holiday

Whoop whoop! Holiday is here! As soon as I saw the announcement on piCture pOlish‘s Instagram account that this limited edition polish was in the making I knew I needed to get my hands on it. And here it is!pp - holiday bottle1Holiday is described as a scatter holo/flakie ‘special edition’ topper with individually numbered bottles. Perfect for the Holidays 😀
The formula is great. It glides on smoothly and gives an even coverage of the flakies and holographic sparkle. I used one coat over black undies:picture polish - holiday1 Continue reading

piCture pOlish – Blog Fest 2014 ft. Nail Vinyls

blog fest 2014 logo sml
Happy Monday!

I know… Monday’s are usually not the happiest days. But today is an exception because today is such an exciting day!

I’m over the moon excited to be part of the Blog/Insta Fest 2014. For this years event piCture pOlish has teamed up with Linda, the mastermind behind Nail Vinyls. The nail vinyls come in many different shapes and sizes such as chevrons, straights, starburst and even lightning bolts. I received the chevron shaped ones for this project. Of course there is no project without polish! So I also received Twinkle and Peaches n Cream, which look great together. And if that wasn’t enough I also received a gorgeous holographic polish called Grace.

First, let’s take a closer look at the mani that I’ve created with Twinkle and Peaches n Cream by using the nail vinyls:
pp blogfest4
I have used the Nail Vinyls before and absolutely love to work with them. They are very easy to use. I thought that the best way to show you guys how I created my design is to make a video tutorial 😀

On a side note… for the nails of my middle finger and pinky I’ve used Peaches n Cream as my base color and for my index and ring Grace.

How To

  • Apply a base coat to protect your nails.
  • Apply your base color. I used two coats of Peaches n Cream.
  • Apply one coat of a fast drying top coat or wait for your base color to be completely dry. This will prevent lifting the base color up when removing the nail vinyls. I used one coat of Insta-Dri by Sally Hansen.
  • Apply the nail vinyls by using tweezers and made sure to push them down (mind the edges of your nails!). I prefer applying them with tweezers because when you do it with your fingers (which is totally possible) the vinyls can get oily and might not stick well on the nails.
  • Once your nail vinyls are in place, apply the second color over the entire nail (not too thick, nor too thin). I used one coat of Twinkle.
  • While the second color is still wet, use tweezers to gently remove the nail vinyls.
  • Time to clean up! I used a small angled eye liner brush and some acetone.
  • When your design is dry, use a top coat for a shiny and long lasting finish. I first used Sally Hansen’s Insta Dri and then added a coat of HK Girl by Glisten & Glow. One coat of top coat would do the job, but I prefer it this way to avoid smudging the design.
  • Finally, apply some cuticle oil/butter and you’re all done!

I love how these turned out. These colors look great together, don’t you agree?

And here’s Grace, a gorgeous muted pink scattered holographic hue. I’m a huge fan of these kind of colors. It has lavender sheen to it but on the other hand it’s sparkly due to the holographic particles (no glitter!). I used three thin coats for full opacity and added one coat of top coat for extra shine. Keep in mind that I take my photo’s outdoors, in daylight (no sun!). pp blogfest grace1pp blogfest grace3

Are you -like me- a huge fan of the now discontinued Ozotic polishes? Guess what? The brilliant girls behind piCture pOlish re-released some of the Ozotic shades! Here’s one of them, called Bridget:picture polish - bridgetThis is a gorgeous red scattered holo polish. The formula is perfect, as always.
