For me is Essie’s Chills and Thrills the perfect Summer blue hue. Such a lovely color:The formula is okay but need some extra attention while applying. You kinda need to work fast and don’t go over the same spot twice. That will result in bald spots (see index). This is two coats plus top coat. On my middle finger I added one coat of Sparkle on Top, also by Essie. That one is a little thick, but that didn’t gave me problems with application. I love these together. It’s like a Summer day at the pool. Pshhhtt… have you noticed the new page at the menu? If you like to watch stash videos then I think you’ll like that page. I’ve filmed my stash, polish by polish 😀 Check it out here. Oh, and since you’re there, it would be great if you’d subscribe to my YouTube channel. New tutorials are in the making 😀
How about Toggle To The Top from Essie’s Winter 2013 Collection? This is just perfect for the Holidays if you ask me. So much glitter and shimmer in a dark red base. I used two coats plus top coat here. I think I could have got away with one generous coat though.I’ve read a lot about whether this could be a dupe of Essie’s Leading Lady. I don’t have that one so I can’t compare the two but I’d love to know if they are dupes(?).
What do you think of this one? Have you picked up any polishes from this collection?
As promised here’s Essie’s For The Twill Of It from their same named Fall collection 2013:As with OPI’s Peace & Love & OPI it is a grey based duo chrome that shifts from blue to purple. The formula is perfect. This is two coats without top coat.
Here’s Come Here! from the Resort Collection by Essie:Come Here! is a bright red/orange cream. The formula of this is great. This is two coats plus top coat. Oh and just for fun I painted a small white stripe one one side of each nail 🙂 I’ve seen several swatches of this and I think that this polish can look either more red/orange or pink/red -as with me-, depending on your skin tone. Have you picked any shades of the Resort Collection? Which one(s)?
Before we jump in to Essie’s No Place Like Chrome and an easy and fun way to turn it into a big eye catcher, I like to give all the girls that have participated in the 30 day challenge a big pat on the shoulder. Great job girls! I’ve seen so much amazing works of art. Very inspiring! Lovely!
Also, have you noticed this amazing giveaway by the lovely Brijit at Brijit Digits? You can win some amazing polishes!
And how about this giveaway by the sweet Luchessa at Beauty Expression by Luchessa?! You can win a Kindle Fire – Smartphone DNA! But hurry, it ends by the end of this month!
Okay, on to today’s mani: No Place Like Chrome by Essie from their Mirror Metallic Collection is a silver metallic/chrome. It’s opaque in one (slightly thicker) easy and quick drying coat, but I used two thin coats here. I advice to use a good ridgefiller before applying this because without it -as with all metallics/chromes- you’ll see every imperfection on your nails. This polish screamed for an ‘out of space’ nail art. I chose to add three different colors of foil. This is the easiest way to turn a ‘regular’ mani in to a big eye catcher! I added some splots of foil glue with a small nail art brush. After that was dry I randomly ‘dabbed’ on the foil 😀
Have you used foil for a manicure already?
Dive Bar by Essie is part of their Holiday 2011 collection. It’s a blackened teal blue shimmer.I’ve used two easy coats plus topcoat (Seche Vite) here.
Although it’s more beautiful in the bottle than on my nails, I really like it. How about you?
A while ago I fell in love with Essie’s Armed and ready thanks to the fantastic swatches by work / play / polish. Because I think it’s a unique shade I wanted to have it… By that I mean right away 😀
After searching almost every website that I know of I came across Melanie’s blog: The Color Palette Blog. She has her own webshop where you can find a lot of polish 😀 You really need to check it out! It’s written in Dutch, but she ships internationally!
And there it is… Armed and ready 😉
It’s a army green with golden shimmer. In my opinion the golden shimmer makes this beauty unique. It’s hard to photograph the shimmer, so get ready for some picture spam 😀
The first two pictures are the most color accurate. The third one shows the gorgeous golden shimmer (made under a lamp).
What do you think of this one?
I love it 😀
